About me
Christina Venessa Becherer is a seasoned leader in international development and humanitarian action, with 18+ years of experience in designing and managing strategic partnerships and programs that result in positive and lasting impact. Demonstrating a constant passion for working toward more equitable and resilient communities, Christina effectively leads complex multi-country partnerships and initiatives, inspires and builds trust among global, multicultural cross-functional teams, and fosters radical collaboration among all sectors.
Before working at Children International as Senior Director of Global Partnerships, Christina led corporate engagement in more than 24 countries as Director of Global Corporate Partnerships at ChildFund International for more than 8.5 years. Previously, she was Director of Development at Sustainable Harvest International and an international writer for an official education project of the United Nations, among work for other nonprofits. Program work that Christina championed has received global recognition, including being featured in a National Geographic documentary and receiving the 2015 Clinton Global Citizen Award for efforts in mobilizing emergency response in Liberia and Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis.
Christina currently serves as Chair of the Disaster and Humanitarian Response Committee and Executive Board Member at Partnership for Quality Medical Donations (PQMD). She holds a certification in Social Impact Partnership Design from Georgetown University and a certificate in Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster from HarvardX, as well as a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Webster University.
